BI Analyst

What will you be doing?

World Wide Technology currently has an opportunity for a Data & Business Visualization Specialist. This role will based remotely, and will be focused on data representation through various visual depictions.

Responsibilities:

Updating, creating, and supporting databases and reports with key metrics to guide strategic decisions
Identifying and gathering relevant and quality data sources to address problems and recommending strategy through testing or exploratory data analysis (EDA)
Integrating and transforming disparate data sources and determining the appropriate data hygiene techniques to apply
Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals
Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Understanding and managing the various data sources coming into our data warehouse and organizing into tables and views for optimal ability to fetch and retrieve the data for analysis
Performing reconciliation and validation between multiple warehouses and sources to ensure data is accurate and reliable
Creating dashboards and handling data requests from the business
Work with executives and other business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement
Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients
Collaborate with team members to collect, review, and analyze data
Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data
Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions
Structure large data sets to find usable information and gaps
Work with a team of analysts and other associates to process information
Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings

Required Skills:

3 - 5 years' experience
Expert in Visualization
Proven experience as a BI Developer
Design, build, and sustain sophisticated, user centric Power BI dashboards and paginated reports that enable timely, data driven decisions across the People Function.
Strong, shown expertise in Power BI (Power Query/M, DAX, data modelling, composite models, Incremental Refresh, RLS, deployment pipelines, and governance at scale).
Design and implement robust semantic models (star/snowflake) and calculation layers (DAX, measures, calculation groups) to ensure accuracy, performance, and ease of use.
Knowledge on Salesforce, Tableau and ServiceNow
Knowledge of relational (SQL, Oracle etc.) and non-relational databases.
Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge, such as layout, typography, color, interaction design and fluency with Adobe tools
Expertise with charting and other data visualization techniques
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Ability to effectively communicate well (written, verbal, and presentation)
Strong written and verbal communication skills in US English
Creative vision, a passion for learning and willingness to adopt and share new ideas
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines
Experience working with large, complex data sets
Experience in data analytics and statistics skills
Data governance/validation expert
Ability to build dashboards and reports using Power Bi,Tableau, or other business intelligence and data visualization tools
Working knowledge of big query
Experience with writing SQL based queries to extract data for analysis
Experience with Python, R or any other scripting language
Strong written/verbal communication skills in US English
Ability to succinctly summarize key findings
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques
Ability to set and meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to QA and troubleshoot data
