About The Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Fullstack Developer (m/w/d) to join our InsurTech team in Hamburg. In this role, you will be integral to developing software solutions that are used daily by our customers. You will work within a modern tech stack, including TypeScript (React) and PHP (Symfony), in a high IT-reife environment that emphasizes quality, automation, and innovative tools such as AI-assisted development. Your responsibilities will span the entire development lifecycle—from analyzing requirements and designing solutions to deploying features and maintaining high-quality code. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career developers eager to grow their skills in a collaborative and forward-thinking setting.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess a well-founded academic background in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field. Practical experience in web development, whether through internships, student projects, or up to two years of professional experience, is essential. Proficiency in either TypeScript or PHP is required, with a preference for candidates familiar with both. A solid understanding of Clean Code principles, testing methodologies, and modern software architecture is important. Additionally, familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code or Cursor and an interest in integrating these into development workflows will be advantageous. Strong communication skills in German (minimum C1 level) are necessary to collaborate effectively within our team. A proactive attitude, structured working style, and enthusiasm for agile methodologies are also key qualifications.
Responsibilities
Your main duties will include managing tickets from conception to deployment, ensuring end-to-end development processes are followed. You will analyze both technical and business requirements, translating them into maintainable, scalable solutions. Conducting and participating in code reviews to uphold code quality standards is an integral part of your role. You will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our backend services and UI toolkits, focusing on improving user experience, especially on mobile devices. Additionally, you will implement automated tests, facilitate continuous integration, and ensure the stability and reliability of delivered features. Collaboration with senior developers and other team members will support your professional growth and help tackle complex challenges effectively.
