Frontend Developer
Salary: £65,000 | Remote-first (UK) | Reading / Witney office access available
Are you a Frontend Developer who thrives on building high-quality, scalable user interfaces across web and mobile platforms?
I’m partnering with a well-established, product-led SaaS organisation that is investing heavily in modernising its front-end architecture and rebuilding its native mobile experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing product suite used by thousands of end users.
The Role
As a Front-End Developer, you’ll deliver high-quality UI components across a growing product suite. You’ll contribute to:
- The redevelopment of a native mobile application using React Native
- The modernisation of a core Web UI using React
- Building scalable, maintainable front-end architecture in a collaborative Agile environment
You’ll work closely with the Team Lead, Product Designer, QA, and senior engineers to ensure consistent, high-quality feature delivery — while also leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Technical Contribution
- Build front-end components using React, React Native, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Translate Figma designs into production-ready UI
- Contribute to the mobile app rebuild and core UI modernisation
- Write secure, maintainable, and testable code
- Use AI-assisted tools (e.g. Claude, IntelliJ Junie or similar) to improve development speed and consistency
Collaboration & Agile Working
- Work closely with Product Design, Engineering, and QA
- Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, and retros
- Engage in peer reviews and architecture discussions
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct thorough testing and support debugging/performance optimisation
- Contribute to documentation and internal standards
- Identify opportunities to improve front-end performance and maintainability
- Stay current with modern front-end technologies and best practices
Required Experience
- Strong experience with React and/or React Native in production
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Commercial experience building mobile applications
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day engineering
- Strong understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience with Git and standard version control workflows
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure during peak delivery periods
Desirable
- Experience working with Java-based backend environments
- Familiarity with performance profiling and advanced debugging tools
- Experience contributing to native mobile applications
