About us
B4B Payments is part of the Banking Circle Group, a 1,000+ person ecosystem owned by the EQT investment organisation, which also includes Banking Circle (global payments, accounts, liquidity, and FX for financial institutions and regulated businesses), and YOULEND (revenue-based financing).
B4B Payments is an embedded and direct payment services provider offering card issuing and BIN sponsorship, and accounts, payments and FX to businesses, with the tools, APIs and infrastructure to allow clients and partners to build cutting-edge financial services. The B4B Payments leadership team has extensive payments experience, and is committed to driving continued growth and scale as we expand internationally, with a presence in the UK, Europe and US.
We operate as an independent affiliate of Banking Circle, and while we are separate companies, we work closely together to deliver a market-competitive, and continually evolving product offering that augments established EMI licensed cards capabilities from B4B Payments with world-class payments, accounts and FX capabilities from Banking Circle. We are a global and diverse team, with our headquarters in London (UK), and offices in Newcastle (UK), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Boston (US).

About the role
This role is about evolving B4B’s operations for scalability, automation, and trust. You will own the product surfaces that keep the business running: regulatory and compliance tooling, operational workflows, internal process automation, and the controls that ensure we can scale safely. Your mission is to drive straight-through processing across internal operations, eliminate manual touchpoints, and ensure B4B is audit-ready and operationally excellent as we grow.
This role has a strong lean toward operational products and regulatory product surfaces, but you will flex across the product portfolio as our product and operations capabilities evolve. You will work closely with the Compliance function, Operations, and engineering – taking regulatory requirements as inputs but owning the product decisions about how to meet them.
You’ll be joining a company in a transformation phase – we are modernising our platform, expanding internationally, and scaling the product organisation. This role suits someone who enjoys building from the ground up, is happy to roll up their sleeves on tasks big and small, and gets energy from seeing tangible progress. You should be comfortable using AI tooling to accelerate research, prototyping, process mapping, and documentation.

In the role you will:

  • Own regulatory and compliance product surfaces – own product delivery for onboarding data requirements and policy, due diligence (ODD, automated DD triggers, policy-as-code decisioning), KYC/KYB flows, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and fuzzy matching, SAR tooling, and agent oversight. Translate regulatory requirements into scalable, configurable product capabilities.
  • Manage regulatory change and audit readiness – assess product impact of new regulations and scheme rule changes. Ensure the product is audit-ready and compliance evidence is systematically captured.
  • Drive operational efficiency through automation – map and improve internal workflows across client onboarding, implementation, and cross-system data flows. Increase straight-through processing, reduce manual data entry and re-keying, and build capabilities that automate data synchronisation and routing.
  • Build internal tooling and back-office products – own the tools that operations and compliance teams use daily, including a unified compliance portal (single pane of glass for case management, screening, alerts, onboarding triggers, and audit trail) and compliance reporting powered by the enterprise data model. Turn spreadsheets into systems.
  • Drive transaction monitoring overhaul – deliver segmented, risk-based transaction monitoring supporting multiple client types, jurisdictions (UK, EU, US), and the agent model.
  • Drive prioritised development and delivery – work with tech leads and engineers to prioritise and sequence work. Write epics and acceptance criteria, manage dependencies, and deliver against quarterly rocks.
  • Manage stakeholders and cross-functional alignment – work across Compliance (UK and EU), Operations, engineering, and commercial teams. Navigate multi-jurisdictional requirements and drive alignment.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate – use AI / LLM tools for process mapping, requirements analysis, documentation, and identifying automation opportunities.

What you will need:

  • 3-5+ years in a Product role, with experience owning operational, internal-facing, or regulated products – ideally in fintech, payments, or financial services.
  • Experience in scale-up or high-growth environments – you’ve built from the ground up, not just inherited mature products. You’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves, moving fast, and making pragmatic trade-offs to ship.
  • Experience building tech products at the heart of the action – working directly with engineers, clients, internal stakeholders, and external third parties across the full development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of operational workflows and process improvement – you can map a process end-to-end, identify bottlenecks and manual touchpoints, and design product solutions that automate and scale. You think in terms of throughput, error rates, and straight-through processing.
  • Financial services regulatory exposure – you understand the basics of KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and the regulatory context of payments and e-money. You don’t need to be a compliance expert, but you should be able to translate regulatory requirements into product specifications.
  • Technical fluency – you can hold your own in discussions about APIs, data models, and system architecture. You don’t need to write code, but you need to understand how systems connect and where data flows break down.
  • Experience working in an agile / scrum environment with a strong written culture – PRDs, process documentation, strategy docs, and regulatory product specifications.
  • Comfortable with AI tooling – you use AI / LLM tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) as part of your workflow for research, prototyping, and documentation.
  • English fluency for both speaking and writing, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills – you’ll work across Compliance, Operations, engineering, and commercial teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience driving operational automation, STP improvements, or workflow digitisation in financial services
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements (UK FCA, Bank of Lithuania, US state-level)
  • Experience with transaction monitoring systems, rules engines, or fraud/AML tooling
  • Experience working in an EMI, payments institution, or regulated financial services environment
  • Experience with BaaS, embedded finance, agent/partner oversight models, or BIN sponsorship
  • Experience with AI-powered automation or intelligent process tooling
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL pipelines, or operational reporting

The interview process:

  • Internal Recruiter call
  • Initial call with one of our Product team members
  • Technical and operational assessment call with the CPO / CTO
  • Cultural fit assessment with a Product team member and engineering tech lead

What we offer:

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Annual wellness day off
  • Access to retail & other discounts
  • Vitality health care plan
  • Learning & development support
  • Ride-to-work scheme
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Regular socials and relaxed working environment
