I’m partnering with an ASX-listed FinTech that’s continuing to invest heavily in its data capability. They’re looking for an Analytics Engineer as someone who can elevate standards, lead from the front, and help scale the function as the company grows.
You’ll step into a visible role, leading a small team while working closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk and Commercial stakeholders. Domain knowledge is imperative. Understanding lending mechanics and treasury concepts will genuinely set you apart.
Location - Sydney CBD
Hybrid Working - 2-3 days/week in office
Salary - $140k-$160k Base + Super (DOE)
What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a small data team, uplifting engineering standards and delivery capability
- Own and evolve the analytics engineering layer using DBT, ensuring scalable, well-tested, well-documented data models
- Build and optimise robust transformations and pipelines using SQL and Python
- Work across a modern cloud ecosystem spanning AWS and Azure
- Leverage Snowflake as the central warehouse to support reporting, analytics and decision intelligence
- Partner directly with Treasury and Finance to model funding structures, margin performance, arrears trends and portfolio metrics
- Improve data governance, quality controls and documentation as the platform matures
- Contribute to architectural decisions as the business expands its data capability
- Help define what “next level” looks like across the organisation
What You’ll Bring
- Domain experience in lending, treasury, structured finance, or broader financial services (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong hands-on capability in SQL and Python (this is non-negotiable)
- Proven experience in analytics engineering or advanced data modelling roles
- Solid experience with DBT and modern ELT workflows
- Exposure to cloud-based architectures (AWS and/or Azure)
- Strong working knowledge of Snowflake or comparable cloud warehouses
- Experience leading or mentoring others (formal management not essential, but leadership mindset is)
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and translating technical work into commercial impact
