Executive Opportunity
Our client is seeking an exceptional senior executive to lead its Asia Pacific Mining Account portfolio, based in Perth, Western Australia.
This is a critical regional leadership appointment with full commercial accountability and strategic oversight across Australia and the broader Asia Pacific market. The successful candidate will operate at executive level, engaging directly with major mining houses and shaping long-term OEM partnerships across large-scale operations.
We are seeking a proven industry leader currently operating within — or with substantial prior experience supporting — Tier-1 mining environments. Candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate this pedigree.

The client is a globally recognised heavy equipment manufacturer delivering advanced machinery solutions across mining, construction, and industrial sectors. With a strong and expanding footprint in Australia, the organisation is making significant investment in its mining capability, technology platforms, aftermarket infrastructure, and long-term strategic partnerships throughout the Asia Pacific region.
This role represents a rare opportunity to shape the next phase of the company’s regional mining growth strategy.
The Role
Reporting at executive level, the Department Head – Asia Pacific (Mining Account) will hold full regional P&L accountability and lead a team of 6–10 direct reports across sales, service, parts, and technical functions.
The position requires frequent travel between Perth and Jakarta, supporting regional operations, distributor alignment, and executive client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute the Asia Pacific mining growth strategy
- Expand penetration across Tier-1 and Tier-2 mining operators
- Identify fleet replacement, electrification, and long-term service agreement opportunities
- Position the client as a strategic OEM partner of choice
Executive Account Leadership
- Lead C-suite and executive-level engagement with major mining organisations
- Manage complex capital equipment tenders and high-value contract negotiations
- Strengthen long-term strategic partnerships across multi-site operations
Commercial & P&L Ownership
- Full regional P&L responsibility
- Deliver sustainable revenue growth and margin optimisation
- Lead forecasting, capital allocation, and risk management initiatives
Operational & Technical Alignment
- Integrate sales, service, parts, and technical support functions
- Ensure compliance with Australian WHS and mining site frameworks
- Drive aftermarket performance and lifecycle asset strategies
Executive Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional mining team (6–10 direct reports)
- Build succession capability and leadership depth
- Represent the client at executive forums and industry roundtables
Mandatory Experience
Industry Background (Essential)
Candidates must demonstrate substantial experience within or directly supporting Tier-1 mining organisations.
This may include:
- Senior operational leadership within large-scale mining environments
- Mining asset or fleet management at enterprise level
- Capital equipment procurement or OEM partnership management
- Long-term service agreement (LTSA) oversight
- Executive-level stakeholder engagement across multi-billion-dollar operations
Executive Credentials
- 15+ years’ experience within mining, heavy equipment, or related industrial sectors
- Proven P&L leadership at regional or national scale
- Established networks within Western Australian mining leadership circles
- Deep understanding of mining safety, compliance, and operational frameworks
- Demonstrated capability leading complex, geographically dispersed teams
