Software Engineer – AI Compiler & Low-Level Systems

Full-time | Hybrid | Aarschot, Belgium

I’m currently partnering with an innovative deep-tech company developing advanced computing solutions for high-performance, mission-critical environments. They’re looking for a Software Engineer to play a key role in shaping the software stack behind their next-generation hardware platform.

This is a highly technical, high-impact opportunity focused on AI compiler development, low-level software tooling, and close hardware–software collaboration.

You’ll work alongside digital design and embedded systems engineers to build the tools and frameworks that bridge modern neural networks with custom silicon, enabling AI workloads to run efficiently and reliably in demanding real-world applications.

The Role:

• Develop and extend an AI compiler toolchain, adding support for custom accelerator hardware and implementing hardware-aware optimisations.
• Collaborate closely with chip designers to drive true hardware–software co-design.
• Build peripheral drivers, SDKs, and developer tools to support seamless hardware integration.
• Develop and optimise low-level libraries and compute kernels within the compiler stack.
• Contribute to end-to-end system demonstrators and performance validation.

What They’re Looking For:

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with AI compiler frameworks (e.g. TVM, IREE or similar).
• Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
• Experience with neural network frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ONNX.
• Understanding of quantisation, model optimisation, or compression techniques.
• Embedded software experience (bare-metal or RTOS environments).
• Ability to contribute across the stack — from low-level development to system integration.
