DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join us as a DevOps – Data Platform Engineer within the Observability and Analytics Cluster of the Tooling Services organization at SWIFT in Belgium.

As a DevOps/SRE Engineer, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for operating and expanding the use of our Service Observability Platform. You will collaborate with delivery teams worldwide, drive Operational Excellence, and make a meaningful impact in a rapidly evolving organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and facilitating knowledge transfer.
  • Contribute to the squad’s roadmap using industry-leading engineering practices.
  • Apply DevOps expertise to improve system availability, resiliency, stability, reliability, and self-service capabilities of the Observability Platform.
  • Optimize infrastructure performance and address telemetry data challenges.
  • Use Ansible for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Manage bare metal and virtualized environments, Kubernetes, Kafka, and the Elastic Stack (ELK).


Required Skills & Experience

  • Mid-to-senior level experience in Data Engineering with a strong DevOps focus.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, and Ansible for CI/CD and automation.
  • Proven experience managing and operating the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Additional knowledge of Elastic Agent, Fleet, APM, ML, or SIEM is a plus.
  • Experience with Kafka ecosystem components (KStream, KSQLDB, KConnect).
  • Proficiency in OpenShift/Kubernetes deployments.
  • Programming skills in Java or Python.
  • Strong experience managing large on-premises infrastructures (compute, storage, networking).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems.
  • Experience in data engineering, including building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes using the ELK stack (ELK Data Engineer certification is a plus).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with remote teams across time zones.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.


Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the Open Telemetry standard.
  • Knowledge of UML and the C4 model for system design.
  • Basic knowledge of Machine Learning (ML).
