This is not a coordination-only role. You’ll be the person who brings clarity to a moving environment - structuring ambiguous client requests, asking the right follow-up questions, and translating high-level input into actionable, well-defined work items. From there, you'll have your own delivery discipline: maintaining Jira hygiene, translating priorities into sprint plans, facilitating ceremonies, tracking capacity and risks, and ensuring blocked work doesn’t quietly sit unresolved. You'll run release checklists, participate in client-facing meetings, own the follow-up and produce delivery reports that are actually useful. Strategic prioritisation stays with the Product Owner - everything around delivery discipline and operational visibility is yours.
We don't expect you to have seen it all. What matters is how you think, how you follow through, and whether you can hold structure when things get messy. You'll be supported by the current IT Project Manager, who will mentor you and gradually hand over ownership over the first 6-12 months.
Daily work reality
Reading delivery states without full context, picking up where someone left off and figuring out what's actually blocking progress - that's a normal part of the job here. So is switching between technical and non-technical stakeholders in the same afternoon.
The environment moves fast. That's not a phase - it's the nature of the work.
Core Skills We Expect From You
- 1-4 years in IT project coordination or project management (or similar delivery-focused roles)
- Ability to structure unclear requirements into concrete tasks by asking precise, outcome-focused questions
- Hands-on Jira experience - not just using it but owning its structure and keeping it clean
- Practical Agile / Scrum knowledge that translates into real day-to-day execution
- Experience preparing structured status reports and maintaining visibility over milestones, risks, and dependencies
- Ability to identify delivery risks early, summarise impact clearly, and escalate with a proposed path forward
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine follow-through mentality
- Fluent English - clear and confident with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Basic understanding of SDLC and release processes
Nice to have
- Experience with data platforms, reporting systems or financial systems
- Exposure to release management processes
- Background in consulting or client-facing delivery environments
- Basic familiarity with backend systems, APIs or ETL pipelines
- Experience with capacity tracking and effort reporting
The first 3-6 months are about building process discipline - Jira governance, reporting structure, coordination habits and follow-up loops. From there, you'll take on independent sprint facilitation, capacity planning, risk management, delivery forecasting and direct stakeholder communication. The goal is for you to grow into an IT Project Manager who can fully own delivery governance on a complex data platform - without needing someone to hold the wheel.
