As Fresenius Digital Technology, we are an integral part of the Fresenius Group, responsible for the IT of the healthcare group and its business segments. We ensure a frictionless interface of IT and business operations so that all employees in production, logistics, and other areas can work efficiently and without interference.


The Network Engineer supports the design, implementation, and daily operation of the company’s global network security infrastructure. In this role, you will work with modern technologies across on‑premise and cloud environments, contributing to the improvement of network security standards and ensuring secure connectivity across the organization.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and architects, taking ownership of assigned tasks while continuously developing your expertise in network and perimeter security.

Your daily tasks:


  • Analyze network and firewall configurations to identify security issues, policy gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network security solutions, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Participate in projects related to segmentation, network hardening or secure connectivity initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of network security documentation, guidelines, and operational procedures
  • Work closely with infrastructure, cloud and architecture teams to effectively integrate security controls
  • Assist in incident response activities by providing network-related analysis and support
  • Stay informed about emerging network security technologies and best practices (Zero Trust, SASE, SD‑WAN)

What we are looking for:


  • Professional experience (typically 3–4+ years) in network or network security engineering
  • Practical knowledge of Next‑Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point or similar) – policy management, troubleshooting, traffic analysis
  • Good understanding of key network services and components: DNS, DHCP, IPAM, VPN, routing/switching
  • Hands-on experience with cloud networking/security (preferably Microsoft Azure)
  • Ability to work with segmentation concepts, access control methods and secure connectivity solutions
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to propose improvements
  • Experience working in environments with elevated security requirements (regulated industries as a plus)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in international teams

Nice to Have:


  • Experience with NDR (Network Detection and Response) tools
  • Understanding of Web Application Firewall concepts
  • Familiarity with firewall analyzer or compliance auditing tools
  • Basic scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Ansible)
  • Professional certifications such as PCNSE, CCNA/CCNP Security, GIAC, Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Familiarity with DDI solutions
