About The Role

This position will support the department in all areas of Human Resources including Health and Safety, Compensation, Recruitment, Training, Disability, Benefits, and Labour Relations. The role will primarily provide administrative support to the team but may also assist in certain project work as available.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain documentation for all County of Lambton Employee’s through the full employee lifecycle; new hires, transfers and terminations.
  • Assist with the administration of the staffing process, which may include, receiving and sorting resumes, letter of offers, and reference checks.
  • Assist with the administration of Health and Safety processes, which may include, receiving and filing incident reports.
  • Maintain timely and accurate employee information in the HRIS.
  • Participate in organizing HR events, which may include, employee picnics, job fairs, information seminars, training sessions and new employee orientations.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of various HR projects and assignments.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the high degree of confidentiality required in a Human Resources role.

General

  • Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
  • Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis.

Minimum Formal Education

  • Enrolment in or completion of a Human Resources diploma or degree program.
