Azure OCI Engineer
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing the Rogers Enterprise cloud infrastructure on Azure and Oracle Cloud (OCI). They will work closely with teams to deliver scalable and secure cloud solutions. The role requires expertise in cloud technologies, a solid understanding of Azure and OCI services, and the ability to optimize resources.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage cloud-based infrastructure on Azure using services such as VMs, Blob Storage, AKS, Databricks, NSGs, Virtual Network Gateways, ExpressRoute.
- Deploy and manage cloud-based infrastructure on OCI using services such as VCNs, OAC, OIC, Security Lists, NSGs, Load Balancer, ATP, Object Storage, DRG, Fast Connect.
- Participate in architecture reviews to propose new solutions and improvements.
- Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform Enterprise, Azure DevOps, or Ansible for repeatable, auditable deployments.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline deployments.
- Ensure security best practices for Azure and OCI services, including network security, IAM, encryption, and access control.
- Implement enterprise-wide automated logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure compliance and security.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments; participate in yearly compliance audits.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to reduce costs while ensuring system performance.
- Provide recommendations for cost-effective cloud architecture and resource scaling.
- Implement cloud monitoring solutions to track performance, availability, and health of applications and infrastructure.
- Analyze logs, metrics, and cloud monitoring tools to troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Stay updated on the latest Azure and OCI cloud features and services and evaluate their potential to enhance cloud solutions.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Programming & Automation: Python, Bash/Shell scripting (intermediate proficiency).
Experience with one or a combination of these tools: Terraform Enterprise, Chef/Puppet, or Ansible.
5+ years of experience in Azure and/or OCI cloud engineering or similar roles, with a strong focus on automation and public cloud deployment principles.
Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise cloud environments from end to end.
Azure and OCI certifications (e.g., AZ-700 Azure Network Engineer Associate, AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate, AZ-305 Azure Solution Architect Expert, OCI Network certifications).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to Have
Strong knowledge of maintaining security guardrails at scale across an Azure tenant and OCI compartments.
