Job Description
This role will be based in Mountain View, CA.
LinkedIn is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to work within LinkedIn's Infrastructure Technical Program Management team. The right candidate will have demonstrated solid leadership in leading teams and programs to deliver successful outcomes. This candidate is expected to perform using best practices for execution of our Infrastructure automation initiatives as well as initiating, planning, and executing intermediate-to-large scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs.
As a Senior TPM on the Reliability Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for driving the cross-functional programs developing these cutting-edge software delivery products & platforms in addition to shaping the strategy and vision of the TPM organization as LinkedIn’s business and technology landscapes evolve and shift. You will work closely with engineers and partners from all parts of the company, from product to infrastructure and more.
The Infrastructure TPM role involves initiating, planning, and executing medium to large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide programs that drive strategic advancements in our technology ecosystem.
At this level of professional development, the candidate will be able to concisely articulate all of the interactions and factors that contribute to the final outcome.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop plans including application releases/updates, data/hardware migrations,and site stability/performance improvements.
- Develop a comprehensive product roadmap and strategy by working together with
- Engineering team to ensure success metrics, technical design and other cross functional teams to get buy-in for the product vision.
- Discover inefficiencies in our production pipelines and drive solutions to completion.
- Partner with Director/Sr. Manager level leadership on project execution and team efficiency.
- You will help teams be more efficient, see the big picture, and ensure processes scale
- appropriately with the company.
- Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery,
- innovation, and learning.
- Manage and maintain project backlogs and ensure forward momentum with project
- execution. Leads efforts to resolve project conflicts and establish appropriate resolution
- Paths.
- Manage dependencies between multiple projects.
- Mentor junior talent in best practices for planning and execution.
- Develop strong partnerships with technology and business leaders.
- Assess and mitigate risk exposure
- Manage resource planning.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S./B.A. Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of experience in Technical Program and Product management, including feature development, roadmap management and experience in Agile Methods within an SRE or infrastructure development team.
- 2+ years of technical leadership with a track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner.
- Experience leading complex technical programs across multiple teams with clear ownership and follow-through
- Proven technical judgment to participate meaningfully in architecture discussions and trade-offs
- Cross-functional influence, building alignment without formal authority
- Clear communication in ambiguous situations, turning open questions into practical execution plans
LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $114,000 to $187,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
