Job Description

We are looking for a fresh graduate to join our Team in Oman as a Project Engineer I.

Responsibilities

Project Preparation and Documentation

  • Ensure all required prerequisites (design inputs, tools, documentation) are available before starting work.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for material orders and track delivery status.
  • Manage project documentation and issue documents to clients via email or document control systems.
  • Support the Project Manager and Lead Engineer with documentation required for project phase completion.
  • Follow client project deliverables, drawings, and system specifications, ensuring full understanding and compliance.
  • Coordinate instrument drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, specifications, and calculations.
  • Prepare and participate in meetings with clients and engineering supervisors.

Technical Design and Engineering

  • Produce assigned sections of functional design specifications under supervision.
  • Develop technical design specifications and material technical specifications for project needs.
  • Learn and apply new DCS, safety systems, and third-party equipment relevant to project design.
  • Share technical knowledge with the project team, supervisors, and other engineering disciplines.

Control Systems Development

  • Program PLC logic and prepare corresponding documentation.
  • Develop HMI operator displays within the Honeywell system.
  • Execute testing activities on Honeywell systems and third-party equipment integrated into the solution.

Project Execution and Site Work

  • Support the management team during project implementation and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct site visits for surveys, engineering tasks, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Collaborate proactively with all project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
  • Identify and implement safety, quality, and efficiency improvements within assigned work.

Communication and Coordination

  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with all parties involved in the project.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables, client expectations, and project requirements.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Skills Required

  • University degree in Control, Instrumentation, Electronics, Chemical, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a proven control engineering company.
  • Basic knowledge of administration and configuration of instrument protection systems, PLC (Safety Manager System and Fail-Safe Control Systems).
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and develop HMI (Human Machine Interface) displays.
  • Ability to collaborate with customer operations teams to develop faceplates and operational graphics.
  • Strong understanding of DCS interfaces, field instruments, control valves, and various types of instrument skids.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to contribute effectively to projects of approximately 2,000 man-hours.
  • Ability to perform on-site commissioning, including installation, validation, and commissioning of instruments.
  • Active participation in FAT and SAT, with knowledge of required procedures and implementation steps.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to estimate man-hour effort based on specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with any DCS system is considered an advantage.
  • Programming skills in any language (C, C++, C#, Java, Python) are an advantage.
