Role Overview

We are seeking a highly execution-focused UI / UX Designer to support rapid product iteration across a consumer social app. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in fast-paced environments, can translate concepts into polished designs quickly, and collaborates closely with product and engineering teams to bring features to life.

The designer will primarily focus on executing existing product concepts, refining UX flows, and producing developer-ready designs across multiple feature areas, including onboarding, coordination experiences, events, matching, and monetisation surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Execution
• Translate product concepts, wireframes, and strategy into high-fidelity UI designs.
• Create clear user flows, states, and edge cases.
• Deliver developer-ready Figma files with components, auto-layout, and naming conventions.
• Ensure designs align with existing design system and brand.

UX Flow Refinement

• Improve existing flows for clarity, simplicity, and conversion.
• Identify friction and propose UX improvements.
• Design states include empty states, loading states, error states, success states, notification states, and edge scenarios.

Rapid Feature Design

Work across multiple feature areas such as home and coordination dashboards, event discovery and pooled experiences, matching and connection surfaces, messaging and group flows, premium and monetisation features, onboarding and retention loops.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the founder, designer, product owner, and developers.
• Participate in quick feedback cycles and iterations.
• Translate product requirements into structured design deliverables.
• Support engineering with handoff and clarifications.

Design System Contribution

• Maintain and extend the component library.
• Ensure consistency across screens and features.
• Improve reusable UI patterns.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years experience in mobile app UI / UX design.
• Strong Figma skills including auto-layout, components, variants, and prototyping.
• Experience designing consumer apps such as social, dating, marketplace, or events apps preferred.
• Ability to move from concept to polished design quickly.
• Strong understanding of interaction design and mobile UX patterns.
• Experience working in fast-moving startup environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing social or coordination experiences.
• Motion and micro-interaction understanding.
• Experience designing subscription or paywall surfaces.
• Understanding of growth UX and conversion design.
