Are you a Front-End Developer with strong commercial experience building and shipping mobile applications using React Native?

I’m partnering with a well-established, product-led SaaS organisation that is investing heavily in the redevelopment of its native mobile application alongside the continued modernisation of its web platform. This role will play a key part in shaping the next generation of their mobile experience.

The Role

As a Senior Front-End Developer, your primary focus will be mobile application development using React Native. You will contribute to rebuilding and enhancing the existing mobile app, ensuring performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

Alongside mobile development, you will support the evolution of the core Web UI using React, working within a collaborative Agile environment.

You will work closely with the Team Lead, Product Designer, QA, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality, well-structured front-end features, while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing mobile applications using React Native
• Strong experience with React in production environments
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience with component-based front-end architecture
• Experience shipping mobile applications into production
• Strong understanding of mobile performance optimisation and debugging
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests using modern JavaScript testing frameworks
• Experience using Git and standard version-control workflows
• Experience working within Agile teams
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day engineering workflow
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure during peak delivery periods

Delivery & Technical Contribution

• Develop and enhance mobile features using React Native
• Contribute to the rebuild and optimisation of the mobile application
• Implement front-end components using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Translate Figma designs and prototypes into production-ready user interfaces
• Write secure, maintainable, and testable code aligned with internal standards
• Use AI-assisted tools (e.g. Claude, IntelliJ Junie or equivalent) to improve productivity and consistency

Collaboration & Ways of Working

• Work closely with Product Design, Engineering, and QA to support feature delivery
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives
• Engage in peer reviews and architecture discussions
• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly and proactively

Quality, Testing & Support

• Conduct thorough testing using approved tools
• Assist with debugging, performance optimisation, and issue resolution
• Contribute to documentation and maintain technical standards
• Support knowledge sharing within the development team

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with modern front-end and mobile technologies
• Identify opportunities to improve mobile performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Contribute to evolving coding standards and development processes

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with Java-based backend environments
• Familiarity with advanced debugging and performance profiling tools
• Experience working with or contributing to native mobile applications
