The Azure Core Trusted Platform team safeguards Microsoft’s foundational cloud infrastructure by ensuring that our engineering systems, services, and workflows meet the highest bars for security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Microsoft runs on trust, and we build the platform‑level capabilities that make safe‑by‑default, compliant engineering possible across Azure, embedding transparency, traceability, and automated safeguards directly into how engineers build and operate services.
Our work increasingly leverages AI through agentic workflows, intelligent automation, and privacy‑aware generation and validation to solve traditionally complex compliance and safety challenges in scalable, creative ways.
As a Software Engineer on the team, you’ll work deeply in distributed systems, reliability, debugging, secure coding, cloud security, automation, and CI/CD, applying strong engineering fundamentals to build resilient, compliant platform components used across Microsoft.
Privacy Manager is a core part of this mission, providing the unified platform that helps hundreds of Microsoft engineering teams understand, track, and confidently manage how their services use, store, and move data. It brings together automated data‑flow insights, privacy‑aware tooling, and structured review workflows that make compliance easier to adopt and harder to get wrong. By integrating these capabilities directly into engineering processes, Privacy Manager enables teams to make informed decisions, reduce risk, and meet evolving global regulatory expectations without slowing down innovation. If you’re excited by the intersection of large‑scale systems, compliance engineering, and AI‑powered innovation, you’ll find a team that values curiosity, impact, and building the trusted foundations Microsoft and its customers rely on.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
