Senior Frontend Developer | React/TypeScript

We’re partnering with a technology consultancy that builds world-class digital platforms and mobile applications and are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to help deliver a new public-sector renewable energy digital platform. This role suits a senior frontend specialist with strong React and TypeScript fundamentals who is excited by AI-assisted development and modern engineering workflows.

About the role

• Lead the development of responsive, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces using React and TypeScript
• Define frontend architecture, component libraries, and state management patterns for long-term maintainability
• Work in a team that increasingly uses AI agents and prompt-driven workflows to accelerate development, testing, and refactoring
• Apply sound technical judgement when reviewing, refining, and owning AI-generated output

What you’ll be responsible for

• Build and maintain high-quality frontend applications for a public-facing digital platform
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs securely and reliably
• Use AI-assisted tooling to improve delivery speed without compromising quality, accessibility, or security
• Champion clean code, testing, performance, and accessibility standards
• Mentor mid-level engineers and contribute to planning and technical decision-making

What We’re Looking For

• Deep, hands-on React + TypeScript experience in real production environments, including architectural decisions and end-to-end delivery ownership.
• A strong grasp of frontend architecture, including SSR/CSR trade-offs, performance optimisation, scalable component systems, and state management strategy.
• Proven experience deploying and operating frontend applications in production (CI/CD, cloud environments, containerisation).
• Confidence debugging complex issues in unfamiliar codebases without heavy guidance.
• Experience designing, structuring, and reviewing AI-generated code, with the judgement to balance automation and engineering discipline.
• Clear, structured communication and the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in a consulting-style environment where autonomy, ownership, and delivery accountability are expected from day one.

Bonus Points

• Experience working in regulated or high-accountability environments.
• Exposure to observability tooling and performance monitoring (e.g. Core Web Vitals, RUM, logging platforms).
• Experience helping define team-level standards around AI-assisted development and responsible AI usage.
• Experience contributing to shared design systems or platform-level frontend architecture.
