About Us – eHealth NSW

At eHealth NSW, we’re leading the digital transformation of Australia’s largest health system. As NSW Health’s digital centre of excellence, we design, build and support world-class ICT solutions that improve patient care across the state.

Guided by a Cloud First Strategy, we’re harnessing digital technology to better patient care and deliver scalable, quality, patient-centred, digital healthcare. With your skills and experience, you can help enrich the lives of millions while developing your career within Australia’s largest health organisation—alongside passionate tech professionals, health partners and industry leaders building solutions that truly make a difference.

About the Opportunity

The Data Centre Management team ensures the 24/7 availability and performance of critical Data Centre infrastructure—including power, security, efficiency, and connectivity—within the Data Centre that hosts the network, compute, and storage for eHealth NSW. The team also manages financial planning and budgets to deliver cost-effective and sustainable services.

As the Product Owner - Data Centre Services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the resilience, security and efficiency of NSW Health’s critical infrastructure. You will support modernisation initiatives including automation, hybrid‑cloud integration, managed services partnerships and sustainability‑aligned improvements.

In this role, you will:

  • Shape and deliver Data Centre strategy, ensuring design and strategy of the eHealth deployment within the Data Centre and that capacity and infrastructure meet current and future organisational needs.
  • Oversee physical infrastructure operations, including knowledge of DCIM tools, design of structured cabling, racking, cabling, patching and ensuring accurate asset and configuration records.
  • Maintain high service availability by managing ITIL‑aligned incident, problem and change processes and supporting operational requests as required.
  • Uphold security, risk and compliance standards, ensuring alignment with NSW Health and government frameworks, and strengthening disaster recovery readiness.
  • Drive performance, optimisation and value, including resource utilisation, cost efficiency, vendor management, SLA oversight and financial planning.
  • Lead, support and develop technical teams, fostering safety, collaboration and continuous improvement across Data Centre environments.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Brings strong experience as an enterprise‑scale Data Centre Manager or Product Owner, with the ability to shape and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap.
  • Has hands-on experience with physical design including structured cabling, power management, racking, airflow management and patching, backed by a strong understanding of network, compute, and storage in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrates proven capability in capacity planning, lifecycle management and high‑service‑level operations, including ITIL‑aligned incident, problem and change management.
  • Is confident managing service providers and contracts, driving performance through effective vendor engagement, SLA oversight and collaborative stakeholder relationships.
  • Understands security, risk and compliance requirements, including familiarity with logical and physical security standards (e.g., Essential 8 and ISO27001), with bonus points for experience in DR testing and continuity planning.
  • Thrives in a modern Data Centre environment, with the ability to mentor teams, adapt to evolving technologies and ideally bring exposure to automation, virtualisation or hybrid‑cloud integration.
  • Willingness to travel to and work from both Unanderra and Silverwater Data Centres and be hands-on with racking, patching, cabling and support.
