Why we need you
Our iOS app is where therapy happens — patients use it to complete speech exercises, cognitive tasks, and language training as they recover from strokes, brain injuries, and other neurological conditions. As an iOS Engineer, you'll own and evolve the core therapy experience on iPhone and iPad, integrate real-time speech feedback powered by our AI models, and ensure a seamless, accessible experience across Apple devices used in clinics and at home.
About the Company
At nyra health, we’re building software that makes a real difference. Our tools help clinics, therapists, and patients in their neurorehabilitation journey. Our products — myReha (therapy app) and nyra insights (web platform for patient management and analysis) — deliver evidence-based, AI-powered neurotherapy at scale.
If that resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you.
What you'll shape
- Core therapy experience: Build and refine interactive therapy modules — speech exercises, cognitive tasks, multimedia content — used by patients daily on iPhone and iPad
- Speech and AI integration: Integrate on-device and server-side speech recognition, pronunciation analysis, and real-time feedback into therapy workflows
- Audio and media pipelines: Implement audio recording, playback, and processing for speech therapy — a core part of the patient experience
- Offline support: Ensure therapy sessions work reliably without connectivity, with robust syncing when back online
- Accessibility: Build with accessibility in mind — many of our users have motor, cognitive, or visual impairments
- Collaboration with Product and Design: Turn clinical requirements and UX designs into polished, intuitive iOS experiences
- Code quality and architecture: Maintain a clean, modular, testable codebase and contribute to engineering best practices
What sets you up for success
- AI-native workflow: You use AI tools daily — Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar — not as a novelty, but as your default way of working. You write better code faster because of it.
- Multi-agent fluency: You're comfortable orchestrating multiple AI agents, chaining prompts, and building workflows where AI handles the heavy lifting while you steer the outcome.
- Tooling mindset: You actively shape your own dev environment — custom scripts, automation, MCP servers, CLI tools — and you're always looking for ways to remove friction from your workflow.
- iOS expertise: 3+ years of professional iOS development with Swift
- Modern iOS stack: Strong experience with SwiftUI (and UIKit where needed), Combine, Swift Concurrency, and modern architectural patterns (MVVM, TCA, or similar)
- Audio and media: Experience with AVFoundation, Core Audio, or real-time audio processing on iOS
- Offline-first patterns: Familiarity with local persistence (Core Data, SwiftData, or Realm) and sync strategies
- App Store experience: Familiarity with App Store review processes, TestFlight, and release management
- Collaboration: Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, and backend teams
Beyond your CV
- Craft-oriented: You sweat the details — smooth transitions, responsive layouts, and pixel-perfect implementation matter to you
- Empathetic builder: You think about the patient struggling to complete a speech exercise, or the therapist managing a ward full of patients, and design for them
- Pragmatic: You balance clean architecture with the reality of shipping in a fast-moving startup
- Curious about AI and speech: You're excited about integrating cutting-edge ML models into native mobile experiences
- Ownership-driven: You see a problem, you fix it — you don't wait to be asked
