Main Responsabilities and Duties

• Design and build scalable RESTful APIs using Java & Spring Boot
• Architect and maintain backend services powering genomics data platforms
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL)
• Work with NoSQL databases (MongoDB / Redis or similar)
• Optimize performance for data-heavy workloads
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, bioinformaticians, and product teams
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions

Requirements

• 1–3 years of backend development experience
• Strong knowledge of Java & Spring ecosystem
• Solid understanding of REST API design principles
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Understanding of data modeling and system design basics
• Familiarity with version control (Git)
• Good problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience working with large datasets
• Exposure to bioinformatics or genomics (not mandatory!)
• Experience in startup environments
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures
