At TU/e’s Electrical Engineering department we are setting up a team to strengthen our valorisation activities. The goal of this team is to develop our research outcomes further from typically low technology readiness levels (TRL3-4) towards market-relevant prototypes (TRL 6-8). In this way we facilitate technology transfer to industry or provide a promising starting point for university spin-offs.
Job Description
The main tasks of the wireless front-end engineer are to:
- design wireless front-end (sub-)systems based on COTS and prototype components to meet technical requirements
- develop test setups and perform (sub-)system tests for design verifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following profile:
- Experience in wireless front-end (sub-)system and/or component design, MSc or PhD degree in relevant field
- Affinity to work on the interface between academia and industry as well as government
- Experience in working in different collaboration environments and development methods, like scrum/agile
- Good communication skills
- Team player who can work in a diverse team
- Willingness to step out of their comfort zone and expand their current knowledge
- Fluent in written and spoken English is required, Dutch is advantageous
- Technical Skills: RF engineering, embedded systems, network protocols, antenna design.
- Software: MATLAB, Python, C/C++, RF simulation tools (e.g., CST, ADS), protocol analyzers.
- Tools: Vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, software-defined radio

- A monthly salary of minimum €3,708 to maximum €6,433 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 9-11 collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities).
