About Lorum
Global payments are not broken. Incentives are. Clearing has been deprioritised inside balance sheet driven institutions whose models rely on lending and interest. When liquidity takes priority over settlement, payments slow and certainty drops. The same financial institutions that distort clearing as providers are disadvantaged as users. They are forced into fragmented setups, inconsistent rails, duplicated compliance, and unpredictable timelines. Stablecoin shortcuts and treasury pooling treat symptoms at the surface, but almost no one is rebuilding the underlying infrastructure in each market.
Rebuilding clearing from the ground up
We are rebuilding clearing as its own specialist function. We act as a clearing and transaction banking partner for regulated institutions, with treasury built into the core so liquidity, settlement, and reconciliation sit in one controlled system.
Our platform unifies global and local licenses, direct central bank clearing, and domestic rails. We allow clients to open named customer accounts in every market we operate, collecting funds and paying out through a single network while retaining full ownership of their customer relationships. Market expansion becomes as simple as one correspondent relationship, not hundreds.
Why Lorum
Joining Lorum means contributing to one of the most ambitious clearing infrastructure projects in global finance. You will help shape settlement systems that perform under real regulatory standards and institutional volumes. You will build for regulated institutions that rely on precision, predictable timelines, and regulatory integrity. It is about working across currencies, markets, and supervisory frameworks to deliver reliable, final settlement.
About The Role
Role purpose
We’re looking for a Brand Designer who leads our brand identity and visual systems while contributing to product UX and interface design. You will create cohesive, distinctive brand assets and apply that visual language to product interfaces, prototypes, and design systems to ensure a consistent, usable experience across touchpoints. Our clients are regulated financial institutions. Everything you design needs to communicate precision, credibility, and institutional quality. This is not consumer fintech.
Key Responsibilities
Brand and visual identity
- Inherit and systematize Lorum's existing brand foundation, then evolve the visual identity: logos, typography, colour, iconography, imagery, and brand guidelines.
- Produce on-brand marketing assets: website pages, pitch decks, social, events, and sales collateral.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library for both product and marketing use.
- Ensure all visual output communicates the precision and credibility expected by regulated institutional clients.
- Create clear design specifications and documentation for engineering and external partners.
- Translate brand into product UI: design screens, components, and high-fidelity prototypes that reflect the brand system.
- Support user research and usability testing for product flows; iterate on designs using qualitative and quantitative feedback.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Marketing to align visual, UX, and commercial goals.
- Advocate for accessible, inclusive design and ensure consistency across experiences.
Must-Haves
- 5+ years design experience with significant brand and visual identity work; experience in startups or scale-ups preferred.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, marketing work, and product UI (low → high fidelity).
- Proficiency with Figma (and other tools like Miro, Adobe Suite) for design, prototyping, and collaboration.
- Experience building or maintaining a design system and component library.
- Understanding of how to design for institutional or B2B audiences where trust, credibility, and regulatory context matter.
- Practical understanding of user research and usability testing.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to articulate design decisions to stakeholders.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated industries.
- Basic front-end knowledge (HTML/CSS) or experience working closely with developers.
- Experience with motion design or advanced prototyping.
- Familiarity with regulatory constraints that affect product design.
- Opportunity to travel (if applicable)
- Flexible vacation policy
- Private Healthcare
- Employee stock ownership (ESOP)
- Flexible working and autonomy
- Pay it forward days - we offer 2 annual pay it forward days where you can take time to volunteer for a charitable cause that is important to you.
- Wellness days - we believe you can only work your best when you feel your best, and we know working at Lorum is intense, so we offer 3 wellness days every quarter where you can take time to re-energise.
