As a Senior Android Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, developing, and optimizing our next-generation Android applications. Leveraging your advanced expertise in mobile technologies, you will contribute across the entire app lifecycle—from ideation and architecture to release and refinement—directly impacting product quality and end-user experience. Your Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, high-performing Android applications aligned with modern best practices.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable Kotlin code, ensuring code quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, UX/UI design, and quality assurance, to deliver seamless and impactful user experiences.
• Translate complex product requirements and business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Refactor and modernize legacy codebases, driving the adoption of modular architectures and up-to-date design patterns.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and manage data flows, error handling, and performance optimization.
• Proactively monitor, analyze, and enhance application performance, memory usage, stability, and responsiveness.
• Participate in agile team activities, including sprint planning, estimation, and iterative delivery, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Uphold best practices in software development, documentation, and version control.

Qualifications & Experience

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Android development, preferably within product-driven or high-scale environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Kotlin and architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with modular application architecture, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, Room, and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Hilt, Dagger).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API integration, data processing, and robust error management strategies.
• Proven track record of delivering polished, intuitive, and user-centric mobile interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and optimize app performance, memory usage, and stability.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and platform longevity.
• Experience working in Agile environments, with familiarity in planning, estimation, and iterative development cycles.
