Product Manager - Open Finance

About the Role

The Open Finance Product Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and management of financial services products within the UAE Open Finance ecosystem. This role focuses on the full product lifecycle of financial services related standards and APIs, from ideation through to launch and ongoing product growth. The individual will work closely with financial institutions including banks, insurers and FX houses, and internal cross-functional teams to deliver and grow products that meet regulatory requirements, market needs, and user expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Execution & Delivery: Define requirements and PRDs (Product Requirement Documents) for the Open Finance platform including updates to the Open Finance standards and APIs. Lead the end-to-end delivery of features, working in lockstep with engineering teams
• Product Growth: Define and track "North Star" metrics for banking product adoption. Use data analysis to monitor product performance and user behavior to inform the next iteration of the product
• Data-Driven Product Roadmap: Prioritize the product backlog using a first-principles approach. Use data and market signals to make trade-offs between feature velocity, technical debt, and regulatory requirements
• Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with cross functional teams including Ecosystems, Engineering, Risk, and Operations to navigate the complexities of Open Finance. Influence without authority to ensure project milestones are met across the organization
• Strategic Market and Customer Analysis: Conduct deep-dives into the UAE financial services landscape and global fintech and open finance trends. Understand customer’s financial needs and behaviors across consumers, SMEs, and corporates
• Product Innovation: Propose innovative product solutions which fit within the Open Finance mission, meet customer needs, and optimize for technical impact on the Open Finance platform and ecosystem participants

Qualification and Experience

Required:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in one of the following:
• Product management role within a bank, fintech, insurance company, FX house, payment processing company, or related financial services software company
• Strategy consulting at a recognized consulting firm with direct exposure to financial services and technology projects
• Strong understanding of financial services products and services
• Technical proficiency or background that enables effective collaboration with engineering teams
• Familiarity with API-based platforms and digital banking services
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate customer and business needs into product requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred:

• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Relevant certifications in product management or financial services
• Understanding of open banking and open finance frameworks, including regulatory requirements in the UAE or similar jurisdictions
• Experience working with regulatory bodies
• Experience with agile product development methodologies
• Proficiency in Arabic (written and spoken) is a significant advantage
