The Administrator/Engineer role will require an individual with leadership skills responsible for acting as a "client lead" that can manage the fulfillment, delivery, implementation, and administration of proposed solutions within our account team. Further, the candidate will ensure high quality service delivery of networking & cloud services to the client through the effective management of assigned projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Working Monday to Friday with some after-hours change implementations.
  • 7x24 on call rotation for incident response.
  • Administration, implementation, patching and troubleshooting of network equipment.
  • Requirements definition, detailed cloud & network implementation and administration.
  • Perform cloud & network engineering/integration support for large multi-site network communications systems.
  • Systems analyses and performance assessments.
  • Support the development and delivery of large network communication infrastructure architectures.
  • Develop and maintain detailed design documents from network & cloud architectures, configuration templates, diagrams and support advisories.
  • Interface with other senior level personnel and deliver technical information in a concise, understandable and accurate fashion.
  • Provide trend analysis of current and future demands and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and deliver concise and logical business-focused technical material.
  • Develop and maintain cloud and network implementation plans and device configuration.
  • Execute cloud and network implementation plans.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

  • Expertise and experience with communication system components (including wide and local area networks, MPLS, IP addressing, Gig-E and ATM technologies, V-LANS, routing, OSPF, firewall configurations and data flows, and other infrastructure components).
  • Managed security services experience, including site-to-site and remote access VPN.
  • Extensive knowledge of Telecom industry and network protocols.
  • Strong IP sub-netting and IP management skills required.
  • Thorough knowledge of public/private IP addressing management and network address translation.
  • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP1&2).
  • Switching architecture and protocols (VLANs, VTP, Trunking, Port-channeling, Spanning Tree)
  • TCP/IP, Summarization.
  • Network Authentication (RADIUS, TACACS+).
  • VPN Technology (IPSec, Key Management, Client & Site-to-site and remote access solutions).
  • Firewall technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto).
  • Global Traffic Management, Load balancing and failover technologies (F5 Big IP GTM/LTM).
  • Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN).
  • Traffic management and shaping experience with Quality of Service.
  • 4+ years of network experience with Cisco.
  • 2+ years of network experience with Palo Alto Networks.
  • 2+ years of network experience with F5.
  • 1+ year cloud experience with Azure.
  • 1+ years of network DNS experience with Infoblox.
  • 5+ years of successful experience with a proven track in a similar role.

CERTIFICATION: F5, Cisco, Palo Alto

Required Level of Education/Expertise:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience in communication systems.
  • CCDP and/or CCNA certification, CCIE preferred.
  • 5+ years in a data network design role.
  • 5+ years in a data network implementation role.

  • Ability to interface with client and engagement teams at the appropriate level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Good research/assessment skills.
  • Able to think critically and solve complex problems.
  • Able to work well independently and within a small team.
  • Able to drive a technical bridge to solve incidents.
  • Able to communicate with team leads, vendors, customer application developers.
  • Good judgment and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deal with aggressive timelines and the associated pressure.

Other Requirements

  • Experience providing IT Administration support in a Production environment.
  • Experience working in a 7x24 High Availability environment.
  • This position requires limited travel within the GTA.
  • This position requires after-hours support.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
