The Role

My client is seeking a skilled Unity Developer to join it’s XR development team. The successful candidate will help design, build, and deliver immersive training solutions for defence and private‑sector clients.

Unity will be the primary development environment; however, the role offers significant opportunities to expand into other technologies, including mobile, web, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. The company actively supports developer training, encouraging individuals to broaden and diversify their technical skill sets.

A secondary responsibility includes exploring emerging XR technologies to identify new opportunities for training modernisation and enhanced client capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing core coding architecture for XR training projects.
• Collaborating with internal teams and subcontractors throughout project delivery.
• Ensuring high standards of code quality and documentation.
• Supporting the creation of technical proposal material.
• Conducting ongoing technical horizon scanning to identify new technologies and market solutions.
• Completing additional tasks required to support team and business success.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience using Unity game technology .
• Strong working knowledge of C# and industry-standard development practices.
• Experience developing for Virtual Reality.
• Familiarity with IDEs, source control systems, and supporting software tools.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable

• Wider software development experience.
• Awareness of Ministry of Defence procurement processes and large‑scale system acquisition lifecycles.
