Objectives of this role
Reporting to the Head of Digital, this role is primarily responsible for supporting client projects and internal product development. It involves running workshops, user interviews and creating high‑quality user interfaces and style guides.
Please note that this position is for a UX/UI Designer based in Australia.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Take part in customer and user research, including interviews and testing
- Drive visual and UX and UI design of digital projects
- Contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Ensure clear and systematic documentation and management of visual assets
- Coordinate and participate in design critiques
- Participate in all team activities and ceremonies, including prioritisation, retros, stand-ups and others as the team decides
- Contribute to ongoing team development and continuous improvement
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ experience working in a UX, Product Designer role or similar
- Strong knowledge of user‑centred, usability and interaction design principles
- Ability to interact with clients, users and other stakeholders and work with product management and developers to document and hand over designs ready for build
- Ability or capacity and willingness to learn workflow, testing and analytics tools (Jira, Fullstory, Usertesting.com, Figma, Google Analytics, Userback, etc.) as required
- Ability to develop low‑fidelity wireframes and user flows informed by, and to inform, user research
- Ability to organise and run workshops with clients and to document the outcomes of these workshops into actions and decisions
- Ability to develop high‑fidelity, responsive designs informed by user research and design systems
- Able to conduct desktop research to inform design
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong visual and verbal communication, and competent written communication
- Proactive learner able to self‑manage
- Ability and willingness to maintain currency in the latest thinking and technologies relating to digital product design
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) experience
- Understanding of HTML and CSS
- Experience working in a lean agile development environment
