The Opportunity
As Senior Project Manager, you will provide leadership and expertise in delivering capital works and campus infrastructure projects across the University. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will apply best practice project management approaches that support academic, operational, and strategic objectives, with a primary focus on delivering physical built-environment and infrastructure projects across the campus portfolio.
You will work across diverse stakeholder groups to implement projects that enhance the built environment and campus experience, including integration of supporting digital and operational systems where required. The role requires a high standard of governance, documentation, and reporting while contributing to a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.
A key part of this role involves shaping project outcomes through strong planning, structured delivery methodologies, and alignment with organisational priorities. You will champion innovation, sustainability, and evidence-based decision making to ensure each initiative delivers long term value.
What Success Looks Like:
- Deliver end‑to‑end capital and property infrastructure projects from feasibility through to operational handover including planning, design development, consultant coordination, procurement, construction delivery, and close-out.
- Apply structured methodologies across infrastructure and property/capital works programs to achieve scope, budget, and timeframe commitments.
- Provide strategic project advice that supports senior stakeholder planning and decision‑making.
- Oversee risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting to ensure project assurance.
- Prepare high quality documentation including business cases, feasibility studies, project plans, and governance papers.
- Manage external consultants, contractors, and builders through formal procurement and contract administration processes.
- Oversee on-site delivery outcomes, including WHS, constructability, and operational readiness.

About You
- Tertiary qualifications in construction project management, architecture, engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience delivering client-side or principal-side construction/capital works projects.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects across feasibility, design, procurement, and construction within complex organisations, with direct experience managing capital works, refurbishments, fit-outs, or new build projects
- Strong understanding of project governance, reporting, and change management practices.
- Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams and manage competing priorities across multi‑site environments.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within universities, government, health, or large institutional property portfolios is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience managing consultants, contractors, and construction contracts is essential.
