Lead meaningful capital works as a Senior Project Manager with a respected Melbourne Council.
Contract dates: Mon 2 March 2026 to Fri 28 August 2026
Location: Broadmeadows Municipal Offices and various locations within the municipality
Hours: 38 hours per week, onsite
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm

This fixed term opportunity offers the chance to lead key capital works projects while working within a supportive Infrastructure Delivery team.
Your new role
You will prepare project briefs, manage tender processes, evaluate submissions, supervise work on-site and provide high-level technical and contractual advice. This role plays a key part in continuous improvement and ensuring quality outcomes for the Council and the community.
Key responsibilities
- Manage delivery of capital works projects from planning to completion
- Prepare project briefs, cost estimates and timelines
- Manage consultants including architects, engineers and quantity surveyors
- Lead tender processes, evaluations and contract administration
- Provide clear and accurate project reporting on budget, program and risks
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Council policies and quality standards
- Support planning and development of future capital works programs
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails
- Monitor construction works to ensure safety and quality
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring extensive experience in project management across building, civil or open space projects, ideally within local government or a similar environment. You will be confident in managing contracts, driving project outcomes and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Degree in engineering, building, architecture, project management or a related field
- Extensive experience in delivering capital works projects
- Strong understanding of tendering, contract administration and procurement
- High level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines and competing priorities
- Strong knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant legislation
- Experience with Microsoft Project and AutoCAD is desirable
- Current Victorian driving licence
- Ability to problem-solve and deliver quality outcomes under pressure
