Senior Software Developer (Helsinki, Tampere)

Elisa has developed its own network automation software for over 15 years and today operates one of the most automated telecom networks in the industry. We are now taking the next step: moving from advanced automation toward truly autonomous networks. In the Autonomous Network Operations team, you will work at the core of this transition, building adaptive, self-managing capabilities that turn large-scale telecom networks into systems that can observe, decide, and improve continuously.

We are looking for Senior Software Developer to join our Autonomous Network Operations team!

Business area and the team

Our team builds tools and automation that support Elisa’s mobile networks throughout their lifecycle—from planning and rollout to operation, optimization, and troubleshooting. We are part of a wider autonomous network operations program aiming to make Elisa’s networks fully autonomous in the future.

We work closely with mobile network experts, combining software engineering skills with real-world network knowledge. We follow agile development practices and continuously improve how we work. We maintain high code quality and keep technical debt low through regular refactoring and clean coding practices.

Note: The chosen candidate will undergo drug test and a security clearance vetting, which in turn requires having stayed in Finland for multiple years.

🛠️ Technologies

We use modern software development tools and DevOps practices. Solutions that we develop are mostly written in Python, with some Golang, and run on a cloud platform using Kubernetes.

We expect you to have several years of experience in full‑stack development and cloud-based software development. The more experience you have with the technologies listed below, the better, but most importantly, you are eager to learn and grow as part of the team.

You do not need mobile network expertise, but this role offers a great opportunity to learn about mobile networks and network automation.

Things we especially value

• Strong experience with a Python programming language
• Good knowledge of TypeScript and React
• Experience working in public cloud environments, especially Google Cloud Platform
• Familiarity with Kubernetes
• Ability to use AI tools in development (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Experience developing software using agile or lean principles

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, for example with GitHub Actions
• Practical expertise of SQL databases
• Familiarity with Golang
• Mobile network knowledge
