THE ROLE
The Technical Support Engineer will be providing technical support across the Wtech Fire Group. Creating new user accounts, including creating user login and passwords, assigning drive access, and installing various software packages. Troubleshooting issues that arise for users, rolling out fixes and updates as they arise. Working with third party suppliers to maintain mobile phone and mobile data contracts. This role is based in Mullingar however travel to other sites within Ireland will be required.
Reporting to: Systems & Innovations Manager
Hours: 37hrs per week
Days: Monday - Friday
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Strong IT support knowledge from a helpdesk perspective.
- Full clean drivers license.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating system.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems under their own initiative.
- Ability to explain concepts to non-technical staff.
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) & Financial Management Systems and Packages.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Willingness to learn, progress and ability to assume responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal and communication and reporting skills.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- 2+years’ Experience in a similar role (Helpdesk experience).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support to staff, both office based and remote.
- Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
- Talk staff through actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
- Support and contribute to IT plans and procedures.
- Maintain procedural documentation and reports.
- Support the Systems & Innovations Manager working with 3rd party providers.
