Business Solutions Analyst
Contract Length: 1 Year
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Raise is currently hiring a Business Solutions Analyst on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.
Description
The Business Analyst in this role will be part of the Business Performance team in the Business Solutions department, focusing on the development of technical solutions that enable system, data, and process automation. The successful candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities, well developed behavioral competencies, and experience in change management, data, analytics, reporting, and technology related to land and well data. This role requires advanced facilitation skills to lead meetings and drive results, ensuring effective outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
Accountable for delivering business process, system, and data automation initiatives through technology assessments, requirements gathering, testing, and deployment to business stakeholders
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Delivery: Lead the lifecycle of automation initiatives, from initial technology assessments and requirements gathering to rigorous testing and final deployment.
- Strategic Facilitation: Act as a lead facilitator for stakeholder meetings, driving consensus and ensuring technical solutions align with business objectives.
- Process & Data Modeling: Design and implement sophisticated data models and process maps to streamline complex upstream workflows.
- Change Management: Champion the adoption of new technologies, ensuring business stakeholders are supported through system transitions.
- Technical Problem Solving: Develop and maintain custom scripts and applications to solve unique data bottlenecks.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive oil and gas experience, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
- Advanced business analysis capabilities, including requirements gathering, validation, testing, facilitation, change management, and process and data modeling.
- Experience with upstream Land and Well applications such as WellView, SiteView, CS Land, Execute, and StackDX.
- Advanced technical skills in the following area:
- PowerPlatform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
- Azure application development
- Python scripting
- Spotfire
- Strong verbal and written communication, exceptional attention to detail, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Education and Certifications
- Post secondary education in petroleum, computer science, business analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
