About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient HVAC Controls Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing submittal packages and owner’s manuals for Building Automation Systems (BAS). Your expertise will ensure that system designs meet performance, operational, and client expectations. You will work closely with sales teams, project managers, and technicians throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical support and ensuring seamless communication. Your contributions will be vital in creating efficient, reliable, and compliant control solutions that align with project specifications and industry standards. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills complemented by excellent organizational and communication abilities. A solid understanding of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and building automation principles is essential. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements. Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are mandatory. Candidates with a proactive approach, customer focus, and the capacity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams will thrive in this role.

Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience in HVAC, electrical systems, PLCs, or building automation, along with an associate degree in HVAC, Electrical, Drafting, or Engineering (or equivalent technical education). Familiarity with Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) tools and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Microsoft Visio, and Adobe Illustrator are considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Design DDC control panels, wiring schematics, and system interfaces to control HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Develop sequences of operation and system layouts tailored to specific project requirements, optimizing system performance and energy efficiency.
  • Create electrical wiring diagrams and graphical representations of user interfaces to facilitate installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Select appropriate control system components and compile comprehensive project bill of materials (BOM) to support procurement and installation activities.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Control Technicians to prepare detailed submittal packages and owner’s manuals, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Review contract plans, specifications, and budgets with project stakeholders to align design deliverables with project goals and constraints.
  • Provide ongoing documentation support to contractors and clients throughout the project lifecycle, including updates and revisions as needed.
  • Coordinate project schedules, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to internal teams to ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • Ensure all project documentation adheres to quality standards and meets established deadlines, facilitating smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
