Would you like to work on high‑quality end‑to‑end data science and software development for the foodservice industry? And do it in a talented, supportive team? Join our software engineering oriented data science team, where we turn data and curiosity into solutions that shape how professionals experience foodservice every day.

People in K Group are working hard on utilizing our unique data to create the best customer experience in retail. We in the K AI team build and maintain artificial intelligent solutions to help and inspire our customers in their day-to-day needs. That is not an easy task: our daily job includes handling large amounts of data (think about the data from our loyalty system Plussa alone), applying machine learning models, writing production-grade software in Python and improving our AWS environment. We follow standard software development practices such as version control, continuous integration and test automation to make development and maintenance easier.

We have a fun and talented team building data science solutions. During the last 12 months, our team has worked with pricing model for used cars, built a content recommendation model for Kespro, created new use cases for our product recommendation model, and improved models which ensure the best products to be available in our grocery stores. This year, we will keep working on these topics, but have also plenty of new things to do.

We’re excited to welcome a new teammate to our team to work specifically on Kespro’s data science initiatives for a fixed-term position covering parental leave. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to apply their skills in software development and data science in a real-world setting. In this role, you’ll work on both building new solutions and maintaining existing ones. You don’t need to be a highly experienced professional, but some hands-on experience with software development projects through coursework, internships or personal projects is appreciated. Speaking Finnish is an advantage but not mandatory. Most importantly, you share our passion for continuous learning, teamwork and creating production-grade AI solutions.

We enjoy working together, and you’ll often find many of our AI developers at our modern office in Kalasatama, Helsinki. While we embrace remote work and have a flexible attitude toward it within our team, some tasks do require on-site collaboration. Currently, we work on-site at least three days a week, so you should be comfortable working regularly from the office.

This is a fixed-term position (covering parental leave), starting as soon as possible and running until September 13th, 2026.

If this sounds like a great next step for you, send us your application with a salary request and CV through the link by March 15th 2026. We’ll start reviewing applications as they come in and will move forward as soon as we find the right person.

For any inquiries, you can contact Head of Personalization, Niilo Latva-Pukkila. He is available to address your questions via phone (+358 46 8102109) or email ([email protected]). Niilo has specifically set aside time for phone calls on Monday March 2nd from 13:00 to 14:00.

Please note you will need the existing right to work in Finland. Kesko is unable to sponsor work permits or visas. Applicants are required to take a drug test before the employment relationship can be established.

We at K Group value diversity and believe that different backgrounds and perspectives are key to success. We strive to create a work environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow. Equality, non-discrimination, and fairness are our core principles in recruitment, compensation, and career development.
