Open Assessment Technologies (OAT) is looking for a Full Stack Developer to help us deliver world-class, open-source learning and assessment solutions.
You’ll work across frontend and backend, building robust, user-friendly web applications from end to end — from designing and implementing features to ensuring top performance, accessibility, and scalability. This is an opportunity to contribute to impactful educational technology projects in an international, multicultural environment.
🔍 What You’ll Do
- Design standalone systems or major new features in existing platforms.
- Build and customize frontend experiences using JS (Svelte, ReactJS), CSS, HTML5.
- Implement backend developments and platform customizations in Node.js or PHP.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Ensure cross-browser/mobile compatibility, accessibility, and performance.
- Write, test, and refactor clean, maintainable code following best practices.
- Participate in SCRUM ceremonies and provide accurate estimations for change requests.
- Mentor team members and share knowledge across the team.
👤 About You
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Proven experience in PHP (current version) and frameworks like Symfony, Slim, Laravel.
- Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of AWS/GCP is a plus.
- Strong Git skills and understanding of Agile concepts.
- Security-by-design mindset and ability to debug and profile code efficiently.
- Empathetic team player who proactively contributes to collective success.
