We seek a seasoned and proactive Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team in Málaga. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of our production systems, aligned with our enterprise architecture and business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong AWS and Kubernetes experience, a pragmatic automation mindset, and a proven track record operating high-traffic platforms with mature observability and incident management practices.

We seek a seasoned and proactive Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team in Málaga. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of our production systems, aligned with our enterprise architecture and business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong AWS and Kubernetes experience, a pragmatic automation mindset, and a proven track record operating high-traffic platforms with mature observability and incident management practices.
Responsibilities
- Reliability & Platform Engineering: Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available platform infrastructure with reliability-first principles.
- Observability & Monitoring: Define and implement monitoring, logging, and tracing standards; build actionable alerting and dashboards to ensure system health and business KPI visibility.
- Incident Management: Lead incident response processes, coordinate resolution, drive blameless postmortems, and implement preventive improvements to reduce recurrence.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, and/or CDK; ensure reproducible and auditable environments.
- Kubernetes & Containerization: Deploy, manage, and improve Kubernetes platforms (EKS preferred); define container best practices, scaling policies, and resilience patterns.
- Automation & CI/CD: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines; automate operational workflows and reduce toil via scripting and platform tooling.
- Security & Compliance: Partner with security to enforce IAM least privilege, encryption, audit logging, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices aligned with ISO/SOC2-style controls.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Product teams to improve service ownership, operational readiness, and delivery quality.
- Mentorship: Coach engineers on SRE practices, documentation/runbooks, and a “you build it, you run it” mindset—raising the overall reliability bar.
Must-Have
- Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years in SRE/DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure roles supporting production systems.
- Cloud Expertise (AWS): Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.) and cloud security best practices.
- Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform (preferred) and/or CloudFormation/CDK; comfortable with GitOps-style workflows for infrastructure changes.
- Kubernetes: Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred), including Helm, ingress controllers, autoscaling, and cluster operations.
- Observability & Reliability: Skilled with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.); strong understanding of SLI/SLO/SLA concepts and actionable alerting.
- Automation: Proficient in scripting/programming for automation (Bash, Python, or Go) with a focus on reducing operational toil.
- CI/CD: Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) and safe deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rollback).
- Version Control: Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- iGaming Industry Experience: Familiarity with iGaming platforms and high-traffic transactional systems.
- Advanced Kubernetes: Service mesh experience (Istio, Linkerd, Cilium) and advanced cluster networking/security.
- Security & Compliance: DevSecOps experience and familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Resilience Engineering: Experience with chaos engineering, fault injection, load testing, or performance engineering.
- FinOps: Hands-on cost optimisation experience using AWS Cost Explorer and optimisation strategies (right-sizing, reserved capacity, spot usage).
- Microservices: Understanding of microservices architecture and reliability patterns for distributed systems.
