Strategic Initiatives ("SI") focuses on identifying and investing in strategic opportunities to expand Temasek’s reach, influence and franchise value, while generating long-term compounding returns. It explores strategic investments, partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations to strengthen Temasek’s franchise value, differentiate and position Temasek favourably in the market, and execute high-impact opportunities that align with Temasek’s long-term vision. It works closely across the key teams in Temasek, including, Temasek Global Investments (TGI), Temasek Singapore (TSG) and Temasek Partnership Solutions (TPS), to deploy catalytic capital that have the potential to move the needle or create value.
Responsibilities- Support workstreams (e.g. investments, new strategies and grow areas, strategic value creation opportunities) within strategic initiatives and across key teams in Temasek
- Coordinating and supporting project teams comprising members from multiple functional teams and stakeholder groups.
- Support workstreams performing deal evaluation, due diligence, industry/company analysis, legal documentation and negotiation; while anchoring and leading financial modelling and related workstreams
- Prepare investment materials, recommendations, and insights for senior management and investment committee discussions
- Support post investment portfolio management of SI investments and assets (e.g. portfolio performance monitoring, value creation, cross-pollination, etc.)
- 1-2 years of working experience in a top-tier private equity, investment bank, corporate finance, and/or M&A space
- Strong transaction management and intellectual capacity
- Strong technical skills (e.g., financial modelling, presentation slides etc.)
- Good interpersonal skills with a self-starter mindset
- Good written and verbal communication skills
