Position Overview
Under the direction of the Web Development Manager, our Full-Stack Web Developer is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of JHT’s global portfolio of brand/brochure websites and supporting tools. A solid understanding of a wide range of tools and web applications is essential. Duties include working with cross-functional teams and managers to develop websites specified by business and functional requirements. A successful candidate will be proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Additional experience with PHP is a plus.
Our brand web developer has a flexible schedule that includes an adaptable start/end time, core work hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. central time, and the ability to work remotely some or most of the time. Our team values individual goals and growth, team collaboration, and the creation of a high-end product for our customers. In our agile environment, developers have an immediate impact on our sites and projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop web sites and applications using modern web development stacks
- Implement scalable applications that meet business requirements and can be distributed globally
- Participate in technical design of new sites and applications
- Enforce code standards and review other developers code
- Be a self-managing, full participant in cross-functional agile teams: define tasks and assignments and complete them by committed dates and timelines and help teammates do the same
- Support junior developers in code development skills as need arises
Education:
- Minimum of four-year degree computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ Years of JavaScript Web Development
- 2+ Years of Databases Development and Maintenance (MySQL, RDS or Dynamo)
- Experience preferred with Angular or other web frameworks
- Experience preferred with HTML, CSS and Sass Development
- Experience preferred with TypeScript development
- Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure understanding of requirements
- Development and problem-solving skills
- Works well within a team environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse group of co-workers, customers and vendors
- Ability to collaborate with business teams
- Ability to incrementally deliver applications as part of an Agile web development team
- Strong software engineering and problem-solving
- Clear communicator both written and verbally
- Ability to collaborate with business teams
