Job Description
The Project Director – Design will be based in the Oman and will lead the strategic direction, management, and delivery of major infrastructure design projects across Oman.
This role is strictly focused on design leadership within an Engineering Design Consultancy environment.
The successful candidate must have extensive GCC experience in the design of roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure, with a strong background in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept and feasibility through detailed design and tender documentation stages.

The Project Director – Design will be based in the Oman and will lead the strategic direction, management, and delivery of major infrastructure design projects across Oman.
This role is strictly focused on design leadership within an Engineering Design Consultancy environment.
The successful candidate must have extensive GCC experience in the design of roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure, with a strong background in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept and feasibility through detailed design and tender documentation stages.
Responsibilities
Strategic Design Leadership
- Provide executive leadership for large-scale infrastructure design projects.
- Establish and oversee design strategies, technical standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Ensure alignment of project design objectives with client and regulatory requirements.
- Lead innovation and value engineering initiatives across projects.
- Direct the full design lifecycle: feasibility studies, concept design, preliminary and detailed design, and IFC/tender documentation.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination across civil, structural, geotechnical, traffic, drainage, and utilities disciplines.
- Review and approve design reports, drawings, calculations, and technical submissions.
- Ensure compliance with Oman and GCC authority standards and international design codes.
- Oversee design risk management and technical assurance processes.
Demonstrated hands-on leadership experience in the design of:
- Major Roads and Highway Networks
- Interchanges and Flyovers
- Bridges and Elevated Structures
- Tunnels and Underground Infrastructure
- Drainage systems and utility corridors
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural/MEP or related discipline).
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in engineering design and project delivery.
- Proven experience in a Project Director / Design Director / Senior Design Manager role.
- Strong experience in Middle East projects (Oman/GCC preferred).
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong commercial acumen and contract management experience.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
