The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Test Engineer to join our QA Team based at our Helsinki headquarters. In this role, you will own the quality of our software, firmware, and hardware products across their full lifecycle- from initial testing to release. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and customer support teams in a collaborative, agile environment, and will be expected to contribute actively in cross-functional project meetings.
The QA Team is led from the United States, and we work in a distributed but tightly collaborative way, making strong communication skills and EU timezone availability important for this role.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Test and verify the functionality, reliability, and performance of hardware, firmware, and software products across platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and web).
- Identify, document, and track defects clearly in Jira, ensuring issues are reproducible and well-described.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved to confirm fixes and prevent regressions.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with developers, product managers, and customer support to drive timely issue resolution.
- Participate actively in Agile/Kanban ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and project meetings - contributing QA perspective early in the product development cycle.
- Exchange knowledge and best practices with teammates, contributing to a culture of quality across the engineering org.
- Stay current with evolving test strategies, tools, and methodologies, and advocate for improvements to the QA process.
- Contribute to test planning and documentation in Confluence.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in QA testing across software, firmware, and hardware products.
- Proven track record of contributing to the successful release of multiple shipped products as part of a QA team.
- Hands-on experience testing hardware and integrated systems (our highest priority area).
- Experience testing firmware for embedded systems.
- Experience testing desktop software on Windows and macOS.
- Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android.
- Experience testing web-based applications.
- Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for issue tracking, documentation, and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with ad-hoc testing methods and exploratory testing approaches.
- Experience in a music technology, audio software, or consumer hardware company.
- Familiarity with DSP products, audio interfaces, or guitar/amp simulation software.
- Experience in an Agile or Kanban development environment.
- Scripting or automation testing experience.
