We are looking for a Senior Engineer to take ownership of our trading systems. In algorithmic trading, a strategy is only as capable as the infrastructure that executes it. Your mandate is to bridge the gap between mathematical intent and technical reality, ensuring that our systems behave deterministically in a stochastic environment.

You will have high-level autonomy to architect the system, align the technical roadmap with portfolio managers, and decide how we solve the problems of scale and reliability while also leading in the implementation. 

The Challenge:

Your technical decisions will directly dictate our future success. As the owner of our trading infrastructure, you will tackle complex engineering hurdles - from optimizing latency for high-frequency operations to architecting resilient systems that process fragmented, unreliable market data in real-time. You are tasked with minimizing technical risk and maximizing execution efficiency, ensuring our quantitative strategies deploy faster, smarter, and with absolute reliability in an inherently chaotic market.

The day-to-day:

• Improve our order execution system to react and respond to events as soon as possible by minimizing both internal and external latency while keeping absolute clarity on system state.
• Turn mathematical intent of execution algorithms into practical implementations.
• Make opinionated decisions on how the architecture of the trading system should look like and implement it.
• Integrate new data sources and make sure that the data produced from them is high quality.
• Manage and monitor our cluster to make sure it has a high uptime.
• Work with the research team to improve both live monitoring of strategies and build tooling to help them move faster in their work.

The Tech Stack: We look for engineers who can work with our current tech stack and have the experience to improve it for the future. Our current environment relies on the following:

• Core Languages: Proficiency in Rust (for core components) or other low-level languages and willingness to learn Rust. Python proficiency is also important.
• Infrastructure & Orchestration: You should be familiar with managing clusters in production. We use Kubernetes and Helm.
• Data: Postgres, Redis, and S3.
• Engineering Best Practices: A strong background in CI/CD pipelines and rigorous software architecture design.
• AI tools: You are comfortable in working with latest AI solutions to improve your productivity
• AI/ML Readiness: [Bonus] Interest or experience in building infrastructure that supports AI/ML-driven trading strategies is a plus.
