PFH Technology Group is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team.
Objective: We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Level 3) to design, implement, maintain and support our clients growing network infrastructure.
Contract: Permanent
Location: Cork, hybrid with monthly site visits to Dublin required
Required Experience: Palto Alto, SonicWall, Cisco ISE
Requirement: Full Irish Driving Licence
Responsibilities
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Provide Level-3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Maintenance and support of Windows server systems, backups storage and Local Area Network technologies.
- Maintenance and support of Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory.
- Maintenance and support of client hardware, including roll-out of new clients, upgrades and hardware repairs including network printers.
- Ensure all IT security policies of the company are always implemented and adhered to.
- Review and updating of all IT process documentation.
- Maintenance of database software.
- Perform system backups.
- Gathering requirements and translating business needs into business solutions including technical recommendations.
- Being a key contact on site for all IT related queries.
- Perform system backups.
Required Experience
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience (at least 4 years).
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science.
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
