Coders Connect has partnered with a high-growth Series A seeking a VP Engineering. They are an eCommerce technology company helping mid-sized consumer brands scale globally across marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and TikTok Shop ๐ŸŒ


The company operates as an AI-driven operating layer between brands and marketplaces, managing listings, pricing, advertising, logistics, compliance, and analytics. This enables brands to expand internationally without building large internal marketplace teams.


They are now entering a critical growth phase as it prepares for Series B ๐Ÿ“ˆ


This role is about defining how engineering scales next.


Why This Role Matters

As VP of Engineering, you will define and evolve the engineering operating model as the company grows.


You will:

What You Will Do

Execution & Delivery

  • Own engineering delivery across squads from planning through to outcomes
  • Drive predictable execution with realistic timelines and transparent progress
  • Hold teams accountable to commitments and roadmap goals
  • Proactively identify risks, blockers, and delivery gaps
  • Run focused, high-signal sprints with clear priorities


Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and scale an engineering organisation of 30โ€“50+ people (proven scaling experience required)
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in clarity, ownership, and psychological safety
  • Coach engineering managers and senior engineers to own results, not just activity
  • Implement strong feedback, performance, and growth frameworks
  • Partner closely with the CTO to challenge assumptions, navigate trade-offs, and raise standards


Hiring & Team Building

  • Scale hiring thoughtfully and efficiently
  • Build a strong bench of engineering managers and tech leads
  • Ensure structured, fair onboarding and progression processes
  • Continuously raise the talent bar while supporting growth at every level


You do not need to code daily. However, you must be comfortable challenging architectural decisions, system design, and technical trade-offs.

You may currently be a VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or a senior technical leader ready for a broader mandate.

  • Cloud-native architecture on AWS
  • Serverless and microservices structured around domain-driven design

  • Backend: Java, Quarkus, GraalVM
  • Frontend: React and Typescript


You do not need experience with every tool listed. Experience leading modern distributed systems at scale matters most ๐Ÿ’ป
