We are on the hunt for a super talented PHP DEVELOPER to join our studio in AMSTERDAM. Better known as the Youda studio.
From our studio in Amsterdam, we supply the world with Governor of Poker 3 and Monopoly Poker to players around the world.
We make games people can’t put down. That’s our mission, plain and simple. And with a team full of creative and passionate people, we pull out all the stops to make it happen.
Our studio is in Amsterdam, right by Schiphol Airport. Easy to get to by car or public transport.
ABOUT THE JOB!
As a PHP Developer, you'll be in charge of handling all multiplayer server-side logic. You'll work on developing and maintain existing features while teaming up with Unity developers to bring new game features to life. To thrive in this role, you should have strong PHP skills, a solid grasp of OOP and design patterns, and a curious mindset for exploring modern technologies.

ABOUT THE JOB!
As a PHP Developer, you'll be in charge of handling all multiplayer server-side logic. You'll work on developing and maintain existing features while teaming up with Unity developers to bring new game features to life. To thrive in this role, you should have strong PHP skills, a solid grasp of OOP and design patterns, and a curious mindset for exploring modern technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize server-side logic for multiplayer and social games.
- Collaborate with Unity developers, game designers, and product teams to implement new game features.
- Design and implement efficient APIs and real-time communication between the game client and server.
- Work with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB) to store and manage game data.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of backend systems.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to maintain a smooth gaming experience.
- Stay up to date with modern gaming technologies and backend best practices.
- 5+ years of experience in PHP development, preferably with frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
- Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and scalable architectures.
- Experience working with real-time multiplayer game logic and WebSockets.
- Hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, or MongoDB).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and third-party integrations.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and server management (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Proficiency at understanding an existing codebase, learning from it, and documenting/explaining when needed.
- Experience with Git version control and working in an agile environment.
- High English level and you must be based in the Netherlands
