Reporting to the Translation Coordination Team Leader, and as an integral part of Questel’s Program Support USA/EMEA Team, this role is responsible for the planning, scheduling, tracking, and delivery of the language translation phase of projects in the project management cycle. Working with project managers, this role works to understand client business objectives and spearheads planning and execution internally to ensure Questel services are delivered on time and with the utmost quality.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities ...

  • Project Management Support: Accept projects from project managers, assign them via our Translation Project Management Software (Savanta), and track progress throughout the lifecycle and deliver projects to the File Formatting Team.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and other Translation Coordinators to ensure smooth execution.
  • Vendor and Resource Management: Ensure translation resources are available, resolve vendor-related issues, and collaborate with Vendor Services.
  • Communication and Escalation: Communicate with project managers about changes, contingencies, and issues that may affect client relationships.
  • System Operations: Process purchase orders, final deliveries, and test evaluations; address PO concerns with Accounting.
  • Linguistic Support: Send linguistic queries to relevant teams and provide feedback to linguists and vendors.
  • Quality and Accuracy Assurance: Provide detailed information to ensure accuracy and manage glossaries/term bases.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Compile legal documents, complete monthly reports, and flag recurring errors to management.


The perfect match ...

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Professional translation experience or other similar language industry experience preferred but not required.


In addition, any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to occasionally manage and deliver projects during non-standard hours.
  • Outstanding planning, scheduling, and coordination skills.
  • Highly motivated with a willingness to take initiative and complete assignments.
  • Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision and regularly report on progress.
  • Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in occasionally stressful situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, regression analysis, etc.) a plus.
  • Good time management skills and ability to complete a heavy workload within an established time frame.
  • Participating in a culture of responsiveness to strengthen relationships and ensure the needs and time of others are met and respected.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is welcome (French!)
  • Working knowledge of Trados, and MS applications (preferred but not required).
