About the Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our core engineering team and help shape the future of our platform.

Headcount.work is a growing startup on a mission to make recruitment and HR a lot less painful. We’re building a modern SaaS platform that uses AI to help companies hire smarter, manage teams more effectively, and automate the time-consuming parts of HR.

Our main stack is Laravel on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend, but we don’t believe in being locked into tools. We’re looking for someone who sees frameworks as means to an end and is open to learning and adapting when new challenges come up.

You’ll have a real say in how things are built, not just how tickets are closed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building features that matter Design, develop, and ship reliable features for the Headcount SaaS platform using Laravel and Vue.js.
• Working with AI Help implement AI-powered features like resume parsing, automated candidate screening, and chatbots by integrating LLMs and third-party APIs.
• Keeping things clean and scalable Apply SOLID principles and design patterns so our codebase stays readable, maintainable, and ready to grow.
• Collaborating across the business Work closely with product and stakeholders to turn real business needs into smart technical solutions and share your ideas along the way.
• Staying flexible Occasionally step outside the Laravel/Vue.js world to build or support microservices when needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong Laravel experience You’re comfortable with queues, events, service providers, Eloquent, and the Laravel ecosystem as a whole.
• Solid Vue.js skills Hands-on experience with Vue 3 and modern frontend patterns.
• Strong engineering mindset You care about clean code, understand OOP, and follow SOLID principles. You don’t just make things work, you make them last.
• Versatility and curiosity PHP and JavaScript are your main tools, but you’re open to working with other technologies (Node.js, Python, React, etc.) when it makes sense.
• SaaS experience You understand concepts like multi-tenancy, role-based access control, and API design.

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• Some experience with prompt engineering or APIs like OpenAI / Anthropic
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows
• Experience writing automated tests
