Freelance Data Scientist – Marketing & Attribution Modelling

Our client is seeking an experienced Freelance Data Scientist to support a growing data science function focused on marketing optimisation and customer analytics.

This role will play a key part in developing advanced statistical and machine learning models to improve marketing effectiveness, campaign performance, and customer acquisition strategies.

The successful consultant will work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable impact through experimentation and advanced modelling techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models for marketing optimisation.
• Build and enhance multi-touch attribution models to evaluate marketing channel performance.
• Design and optimise campaign performance models supporting acquisition and retention initiatives.
• Apply stochastic and probabilistic modelling approaches to business problems.
• Work with large-scale customer and marketing datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Support experimentation and data-driven decision-making across marketing teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including analytics, marketing, and engineering teams.
• Contribute to model deployment and operationalisation where required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist in commercial environments.
• Marketing analytics or marketing optimisation
• Campaign optimisation
• Multi-touch attribution / marketing mix modelling
• Strong understanding of experimentation and model evaluation.
• Experience working with production-level data science workflows.
• Ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in growth, marketing, or customer analytics environments.
• Exposure to large-scale customer datasets.
• Experience collaborating with ML engineers or working within modern ML platforms.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments.
