Our commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation for being at the forefront of the industry. We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Manufacturing Network Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Role/ Position Overview: The Senior OT Engineer is responsible for overseeing the management and compliance of the digital infrastructure at our Oslo site, focusing on Operational Technology (OT) and IT networks. This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing mission critical systems and networks within a manufacturing environment. The engineer will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, system owners, and global functions to ensure the site’s OT infrastructure is optimally configured and compliant with industry standards. The role is primarily site based.
Main duties and responsibilities: The chosen candidate would typically be accountable for the following activities (but not exclusively):
Support Critical Systems & Infrastructure
- Maintain and troubleshoot the OT/IT network and relevant applications to ensure operational availability.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, compliance, and obsolescence to deliver optimum performance and reliability
- Administer users and groups, request certificates, GPOs, and DNS records.
- Join machines to the domain and install infrastructure software (e.g., Veeam, Symantec, CheckMK).
- Perform actions on monitoring alarms, ensuring swift response to any issues
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding of applications within the security, risk, and compliance framework.
- Identify risks and improvement opportunities, implementing upgrades and patches as necessary.
- Ensure compliance of site OT systems by collaborating with local and global functions.
- Coordinate with external vendors to support project implementation and ongoing infrastructure support.
- Generate, maintain, and improve site OT and system documentation, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
- Lead and execute OT/IT related projects, managing relevant project change documentation.
- Assist project owners in meeting requirements, including interfacing new equipment with existing site networks.
- Provide input for developing project schedules and document trackers for OT/IT connectivity objectives.
Qualifications/Education
Qualifications/skills and work experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience).
- Proven experience in IT/OT support within the manufacturing industry, with a preference for pharmaceutical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in executing IT projects and lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience with incident, problem, change, or configuration management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interfacing and influencing at all organizational levels.
- VMware (ESXi)
- Experience with windows operating systems.
- Configuration Management Database experience e.g Service now or other similar applications
- Network technologies e.g. switches and Firewalls (Palo Alto & Cisco).
- Experience with Infrastructure & Application Monitoring software e.g. Solar Winds, Checkmk etc.
- Experience working in a manufacturing pharmaceutical environment & working with and creating procedural controls around daily operations.
- Experience with Active directory set up / configuration.
- Experience with system disaster recovery & back up software e.g. Acronis etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge of industrial communications e.g. ProfiNET, ProfiBUS, ASiBus, Modbus RS485/ TCP/IP, OPC DA/UA
- Strong Team player. Works well in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to resolve conflicts in priorities in line with business need.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence.
- Analytic, creative, and technical problem solver.
- Technically minded but can explain to those with less technical knowledge.
- Be able to work independently, as well as being a core member within a team
