We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team at Opera in Oslo. In this role, you will focus equally on automating financial processes and improving SOX compliance processes - simplifying, optimizing, and redesigning workflows where needed. You will work closely with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders, taking ownership of projects that directly impact operational efficiency and compliance standards. This is a role with real influence: at Opera, you will have the opportunity to shape how tasks are executed, propose improvements, and take on more responsibility than typically expected at an early career stage. If you enjoy combining business understanding with data skills and thrive in a flexible yet high-accountability environment, this could be the right next step for you.
Role & Responsibilities
- Automate and optimize financial processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy,
- Analyze and enhance SOX compliance processes by simplifying, restructuring, and automating controls where possible,
- Develop and maintain SQL-based datasets, reports, and dashboards to support Finance and business stakeholders,
- Perform ad hoc data analysis to identify process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities,
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and other teams, ensuring strong stakeholder alignment and ownership of deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in a data-related field (e.g., Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science) and Master’s in a business-related field (or vice versa),
- Medium-level SQL skills and basic Python knowledge,
- Very strong proficiency in Google Sheets; experience with Looker or Tableau is a plus,
- High level of ownership, strong work ethic, and proactive mindset - comfortable asking questions and challenging the status quo,
- Strong stakeholder management skills and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.
At Opera, you’ll join a diverse and inclusive team of experienced, supportive professionals who value creativity and collaboration. We work in a flat structure with short decision-making paths, use smart technology, and support your ongoing skill development in a friendly and empowering environment.
